A homework helper that teaches instead of just giving the answer.
Oivallin asks and hints until the pupil works out the solution on their own. You can type the task, say it out loud or take a photo of it from a book. From pre-school to university.

is this right?OivallinThe calculation 5 · 1.2 = 6 is correct, but the answer isn't right yet. 5 kg is the mass of the bag, not a force. Work is calculated from force and distance. What force is needed to lift the bag steadily upwards?

How Oivallin works
Tell the task
Type or say the task, or take a photo of it in a book or notebook.
Oivallin asks
It finds out what you already know and helps you forward with questions and hints.
You solve it yourself
When you work out the answer, you get a star. Stars grow your own tree.
For tests and revision
- Take a photo of the exam topic or the exam notice, and Oivallin splits it into daily pieces and makes a practice test.
- You can make a flashcard in Study, Homework and Test: under every reply from the helper there is + Flashcard. In Study and Test, Oivallin fills in the card once the pupil has answered, whether the answer was right, wrong or I don't know. Cards are most useful for the things that went wrong or felt uncertain. In Homework, you can make a card from an intermediate step where Oivallin helps, such as a rule, a concept or a method of calculation.
- You can also write a card yourself, make it from a textbook picture or let the AI draft cards. Review brings the difficult cards back soon and the easy ones less often. How flashcards work
- In Study you can ask for a skills check on a topic: a short set of questions shows what the pupil already knows and what is worth practising.
- Oivallin reads its replies out loud, and you can also say your question.
- The helper talks at the right level for the pupil's age: differently to a pre-schooler than to an upper secondary student.
For guardians
- With a family account, the guardian adds the children and sends each one their own link. The child doesn't need to remember a password.
- The guardian can give tasks, set goals and see the stars.
- The guardian can read the conversations of a child in basic education (grades 1–9).
- Many AI apps give a child a ready-made answer. Oivallin is built so that it doesn't do homework for the child.
Price
Every new user starts with a free trial, and it doesn't need payment details. You can start a trial without signing in, and then it lasts 3 days. With a Google account or the guardian's family account, the trial lasts 14 days.
After the trial, payment is per user with Vipps MobilePay. By default the payment is a one-off payment for one month that doesn't renew. You can choose a recurring payment separately and cancel it at any time.
You only pay for the people who use Oivallin. The guardian doesn't have to pay for themselves: managing the account is free, so adding children, tasks, goals and reading conversations don't need a membership of your own. Flashcards and reviewing them also work without a paid membership, so the guardian can use them too. Help from the helper needs a paid membership.
